2003-08-03 @ 5:41 p.m. Tonight as we lay restless under the nighttime sky The stars mourn our ill fated existence And as we make countless wishes on their nervous bodies They glisten in sadness Sometimes i doubt they could help this world Why would they even want to? Being forced to look down upon us night after night Miserable figures tangled in confusion Strangling eachother, strangling ourselves It must be such a depressing sight for them to see For we are so impatient with life these days Killing the ones we love most to get ahead And drowning our sorrow in liquor along the way So tonight the stars will lament for us While we beg for some sort of miracle They tremble and weep for every sad sight they see- Like the lovers that live buried beneath lies The girl who traces her heartbreaks with a blade The boy who captures broken souls for sport The parents who stay together for their children Whil burying landmines all over their $250,000 home And those who build monuments of copper in city fountains So that their luck may change We don't even realize the stars see how we live each day How we sink in desperation Trying to break free from every tie that binds us Not knowing the intricate knots hold us together And while we pray for a better way living The stars pray for clouds to come and shield their fragile eyes No wonder so many commit suicide by fatal fall Watching us every day, sad and disappointed It's a miracle any of them are left at all. .Past.
